Zang Toi – The Cloister – Sea Island Fashion Week

I just love how many smaller cities around the country are jumping on the New York Fashion Week bandwagon and offering versions of their own.  I’ve been busy shooting for Savannah Fashion Week which happens later this month and last month I had the ultimate pleasure of attending the Zang Toi fashion show at The Cloister for Sea Island Fashion WeekEvelyn Talman hosted the runway show as a benefit for the Coastal Symphony of Georgia and The Cloister Collection included a Zang Toi trunk show the following week as part of the fashion extravaganza.

A huge thank to you Ally Urquhart at The Cloister Collection and Stephanie Dasher of Savannah’s fashion blog, Life on the Squares for having me come out to photograph the event.  It was an incredible show!

All of Zang Toi‘s runway shows begin and finish with a performance so while waiting in anticipation of the first looks, guests were serenaded by a violinist.

Pollak Family – Savannah Family Photographer

Oh my gosh.  I just realized that I’ve known Erica now for a decade. Whoah.  Ok, back on track.  This is Erica Pollak, fellow amazing photographer and really fab friend, her GORGEOUS daughter (who I used to babysit when she was in a crib!), and the awesome man in her life.  Last year we spent an afternoon laughing it up and playing by the marsh.  These kind of photos are my favorite.  All giggles and sweetness.

Kerri & Brad – Dunham Farms Wedding

2013 wrapped up with two amazing weddings, one of which was Kerri & Brad’s incredible affair out at Dunham Farms.  When I met Kerri, we immediately hit it off – she is the sweetest lady and so super cute you can’t even stand it.  I just knew that her wedding would be chock full of meaningful touches and that they would be surrounded by an incredible group of friends and family. Kerri knew that she wanted her guests to have an amazing wedding experience from the very start to finish.  The fine ladies at Posh Petals and Pearls helped her make that happen.  How amazing are these Save the Dates and little welcome packages the guests received!? Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Fun signs directed guests to the Dunham Farms property and folks were greeted by this huge sign with fun little bits about the wedding day = love! Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer The invitation suite came packaged beautifully in a kraft box with beautiful lettering.  Paired with Kerri’s glorious Badgley Mischka heels = swoon! Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Kerri has a huge huge heart and you can tell that making sure her loved ones felt appreciated was her top priority.  All the maids received beautiful robes and Kerri had hankies embroidered with custom messages for her most special supporters. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Kerri & Brad opted to do a First Look which I always love.  After sharing a private, sweet moment together, we were able to take care of all portraits prior to the ceremony. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Kerri, you are glorious. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms is a spectacular place.  The beautiful trees offer the perfect backdrop. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer I have never before seen a more clever guest book.  One of Kerri’s dear friends is a furniture designer.  He custom built this beautiful wooden coffee table and created a metal piece that guests could sign.  Later it will be fitted into the table for Kerri & Brad to enjoy forever. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer I love the idea of having doors at the ceremony to keep the bride hidden until she is ready to walk down the aisle. Dunham Farms Savannah Wedding Photographer Kerri & Brad – Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to document your amazing wedding.  I feel so lucky to have shared in your day and to have gotten to know you two!  Here’s to so many years of extreme happiness!

Remember this little cutie from his first birthday I just posted?  Of course you do!

Everyone enjoyed the circus themed birthday party so much that there was little time for family photos – so we met up again to grab some fun shots of them being an adorable family. Savannah Athens family photographer Savannah Athens family photographer

Thank y’all so much for allowing me to spend some time with your sweet sweet family – y’all are more cute for words and look forward to documenting of this adorable fella!

Thomas’ 1st Birthday

Audrey and I are always thinking.  And one of the things we are always considering is what all we want our Let’s Play, Dear to encompass?  Do we want to promote ourselves as a team for events or should we ALWAYS keep our separate business identities?  We dabbled with the idea of doing little kids birthday parties because deep down inside Audrey and I love all the silly cuteness that most adults won’t let us do for them.  You know, pink, glitter, bows, balloons.  When we pitched our ideas to Audrey’s friend, Claire, she jumped at the chance to have us style and photograph her son’s 1st birthday party.

Claire’s mom unearthed some vintage paper maché circus animals she had made for her when she was a baby and we knew that they had to serve as a jumping off point for the whole party.  To welcome guests to the house, Audrey lined the driveway in balloons at varying heights.

She updated the paper maché clown with a softer seersucker collar and carried the seersucker into the bunting that hung at the doorway.  Hoorah signs gave a nod to the beloved Pooh stories that Claire reads to Thomas. Circus 1st Birthday Party Photo

Claire comes from a family of polish, etiquette and class and while she was definitely on board for a fun, brightly colored, silly party, touches of refinery had to be present for the adults.  Flowers were placed in silver vessels and Thomas’ silver baby animals were placed throughout the tablescape. Bloody marys were available for the parents and lovely embroidered napkins were held tightly with bright washi tape. Thomas’ party was a huge success.  Everyone had a blast and the sweet circus decor left the other families inspired.  Definitely keep Audrey and me, with Let’s Play, Dear in mind for your next party!
